Septic Pumping Services

Septic system pumping removes all the accumulated solids, waste, and effluent from the septic tank(s). This process includes locating, digging (if required), and accessing the septic tank(s), then pumping out all the contents from all the compartments and tanks. The sludge can be so thick that we’re required to back flush from the truck to get it all out. That’s a process that few people will do and even fewer will do right.

When solids are not pumped out regularly, they build up and overflow into the drain field. This causes both costly system failure and environmental contamination.

The frequency your system needs pumping depends on factors such as the age of the septic, household size, bedroom count, age of the occupants, life style, water usage, water softener, leaking toilet(s), root infiltration, and the size of the septic. This makes each house different.

This sounds self-serving for a septic company to say, but it’s better to pump too often than too infrequently. Because a system that is pushed too far can fail, and the low cost of pumping is a fraction of the cost you can encounter by overestimating your timeline between pumpings.

(Basic) Pumping Timetable

  • 4 people = every 1 to 2 yrs
  • 5 people = every 1 yr
  • 6 people = < 1 yr

4 bedroom house:

  • 3 people = every 2 to 3 yrs
  • 4 people = every 2 to 3 yrs
  • 5 people = every 1 to 2 yrs

Septic Hydro-Jetting

Hydro-jetting is a septic maintenance technique that involves using nozzles and high-pressure water to clean inside the pipes of the septic system. Hydro jetting uses high pressure nozzles to remove roots, biomat, scum, pulp buildup, candy wrappers, and trash from the septic disposal field lines. It is to regain an even distribution flow throughout the septic field.

The Hydro-Jetter can also wash away build-up in sewer lines going from the house to the septic tank(s). Over time, sludge, debris, stubborn clogs, and tree roots — yes, tree roots — can and do accumulate inside the pipes. These hinder the normal sewage flow from the house to the tank, and from tank to tank. Hydro-jetting promotes efficient water flow and prevents backups. This is particularly beneficial and even crucial for older systems.
